EasyJet flight compensation

I was recently on an easyJet flight that was delayed by 7 hours. The pilot told us it was due to staffing issues but when I raised my compensation claim they denied this and said it was air traffic control and this I was not entitled. My friend who had a separate booking but on same flight raised a completely different response- agreement from easyJet that they were required to pay compensation into her bank of £520 per passenger and £2080 paid into her bank for her family of four. How can easyJet do this? If it wasn't for the fact she is my friend I would never have known.

@trulybee there’s a FB group which can give you advice about this. Lots of people seem to have similar problems with variation in what they’re told. Might be worth joining and seeing what they advise. Good luck

BE WARNED!!! We already know, but just a reminder…Eadyjet are rip-off artists & shysters. Booked flight, added/PAID FOR hold luggage, decided to swap hold luggage for windsurf bag, couldn’t do it in-app so phoned them. Was told no, there’s no option to swap/refund bag, I have to add/PAY FOR 2nd bag also. Frickn thieves. DONT USE sleazyjet!!! TUI also fly!
