Hello, I am looking at going on holiday in the October half term. I will have a six-year-old and an 18 month old toddler. I have the option of either booking a short hall holiday which will probably be either Tenerife or Lanzarote or staying in the UK and going to a holiday park or an Airbnb. And I’m not sure what to book!
We were lucky enough to go to Spain for a week recently and my youngest was quite a handful. It obviously wasn’t the relaxing experience we’ve had before when he was a baby, toddlers are ofc hard work as everybody knows but because my eldest was two when Covid hit we didn’t actually go away so this was my first experience of a toddler abroad. We had a great holiday, but it took a fair amount of thinking and prep to ensure it was enjoyed.
So the thing with the October half term is my son’s school has grouped the inset days so he has two weeks off and the second week (1st Nov), holidays abroad seem to be cheap or cheaper than usual. In addition we don’t have to pay for an aeroplane seat for my youngest so this could be the last chance at a cheap holiday abroad for years.
Usually I jump at a chance at getting on a plane and flying away however the recent trip to Spain showed me how much we rely on our set up at home with things like playpens and having things in place and the hotel room and resort wasn’t ideal.
Can anyone recommend a resort or hotel abroad that caters well for toddlers or young children as I think we would need to have lots of options when we’re there whether it’s in the hotel or surrounding areas.
Or does anyone have any recommendations for a UK holiday park that caters well for young children?
Thank you
