Lucky enough to be able to plan a safari for a special wedding anniversary

Thinking March 2025 - time in Cape Town and then a 3 or 4 night safari

Can anyone recommend a safari location within a short flight time from CT and/or a company to book through?

Ah I was going to whole heartedly recommend Tanzania, but if you’re in CT that might be a stretch. If however you fancy the unfenced, unfettered experience then Tanzania would get my vote every time. We loved it. My experience elsewhere is that they are more like big safari parks. Yes the animals can kill each other (and do!) but it doesn’t feel as wild.

Wilderness Safaris are amazing if you do fancy TZ. The Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater were breathtaking.

I did a holiday a few years ago, which was a week in CT and then 3 nights safari on a private game reserve in the Eastern Cape. All organised via Travel Butlers, who I highly recommend.

@ThePlacesYouWillGo123 My husband and I went to Capetown in August and flew to Johannesburg for safari - stayed in Lush Lodge on the Black Rhino Reserve. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Had the trip of a lifetime!

I came on to say Tanzania too 😂

We used Expert Africa and they were absolutely excellent.

We used Hartley’s Safaris. It included a couple of nights at the Cape Grace in CT, a boutique b&b in the winelands and a stay at the Rhino Post in the Kruger, which included a walking safari (searching for lions).

We flew to Kruger via joberg from CT.
Stayed at Jock safari lodge. It was a good few years ago but it was the best holiday of my life Smile
