Hi everyone

i am looking for ideas on where to go for around a week at the end of October/start of November that will still be warm. I had been thinking oman but am put off by the current situation in the Middle East. Happy to stretch the budget as it’s a special occasion but don’t want to be away more than 8/9 nights.
thanks

I was going to say Oman as we are going next Oct

Morocco
Jordan
Egypt
The Gambia

All good at that time. The Gambia gets some bad press but not as poor a Dubai IMO.

We have enjoyed all of the above.

Depends if you will tolerate a longer flight.

@Dontmesswithmyhead I am really keen on Oman but just worried that flights there might be unstable.
happy with a longer flight if it’s overnight

Riviera Maya in Mexico

Oman. The flights will be fine. I grew up there during the Iraq war. Oman is heavily protected by the UK because of the straits of Hormuz.

Mexico is in the tropical storm zone at that time, is not risk that part of the world. Could be ok, but having been caught in a hurricane, I’d not repeat it.

I’ve been to Mexico in November and temps were pleasant. Typically, when it did rain, it was light rain overnight or briefly in the afternoon, and the rest of the day is fine & sunny. It wasn’t at all humid. From experience, Playa del Carmen gets less rain than Cancun. Day of the Dead is at the beginning of November and it’s great to be there for that.

South Africa? Overnight flight and no jet lag.

Nw22 · 14/08/2024 19:34

@Twilightstarbright oh good idea. I’ve been in safari in South Africa but cape town would be good
