Can I transfer my toiletries contents to small containers or do I need to use bought unused toiletries, when flying? Many thanks.

As long as liquids are under 100ml containers it doesn’t matter

Small containers is fine as long as they're all individually under 100ml.

Airports run security rather than the airlines so always check with the advice from the airport you're flying out of.

I have small containers (a mix of 30/50/100ml) from Muji and have most of my toiletries transferred to those (I travel a lot, generally hand luggage only). I've never had an issue with that.

Just remember they need to be in a sealed transparent bag - I have the medium size of an old Boots set of 3 for that purpose which generally gets waved through. (And I use the smallest for my powders, small handled makeup brushes etc, so they are also easy to grab on the rare occasion they're asked for separately).
