Wobbly teenage friendship on holiday

I’m going on holiday with my daughter, her friend (both 16 year old girls) and the friends mum who I get on really well with and consider a good friend.
The holiday has been talked about for ages - we said we’d all go away the summer after the girls GCSES.
the girls were best friends in primary school but go to different secondary schools. My daughter feels they are growing apart and have different interests/values now, and is having reservations about the whole thing.
We’ll be in a hotel and it’s for a week.

Any advice on how to ensure the holiday goes smoothly gratefully received! Thank you

I've got a DD14 and can imagine how this kind of situation arises. I think in your case I would just presume to do stuff as a foursome rather than trying to get the girls to do something together whilst you and your friend sit chatting say. Hopefully as the week
goes on, they might find some common ground again and want to do stuff together but I wouldn't try forcing it from the start.

Agree with other poster, don't force the girls to be together on their own. Stick with your daughter rather than your friend.

I agree - my DD is my priority so I will spend the majority of the time with her, at least initially, and see how the week pans out. Hopefully they will find some common ground and be reminded of the fun they have had over the years
I will also try and not stress about a friendship I can’t control and try not to bang on about how damn lucky she is to be going on holiday!
