Ive just become eligible for a blue light card.
Does anyone know if holiday discounts are applicable during peak times ?

If you download the app you can search for your particular holiday provider. That will tell you if they offer a discount through blue light and what the specific ts and C's are.

FortyFacedFuckers · 11/08/2024 22:50

Is it NHS you work for?

DuckBee · 11/08/2024 22:53

Also a lot of things are actually cheaper without blc discount so do your research.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 11/08/2024 23:04

I just got one too op but not sure how much l will use it - suppose if l save more than l paid for it, it was worth it!
Sorry no idea about the holidays x

GetDownkeith · 11/08/2024 23:11

The t&c s vary for each company. The app will tell you the discount and conditions

JC03745 · 11/08/2024 23:20

The companies you get a discount from change from time to time, as does the discount. Some don't even off a discount, but a discount for vouchers to buy only!

EG: When I joined it, asda were giving (I think) 10% off everything for blue light holders. It has been wittled down, bit by bit, and I think only certain fruit/veg qualify now.
What travel company are you looking at? I'm happy to have a look for you.

Thank you! Is there any chance I could ask you to look at how much the discount takes off? I am eligible for a BLC but haven’t bought it yet as I’m trying to work out whether it is actually worth it/whether I’ll make good use out of it… thanks again!

Raccoonsmacaroons · 25/04/2026 20:58

BLC have lost their way in my opinion, they offer it out far too widely and so discounts are now crap. Very rarely do you find anything decent these days.

rhinobaby · 27/04/2026 20:50

Holiday type things often have better discounts from other places, but for holiday clothes…. I’ve had 15-20% BLC discount at Mountain warehouse, Rohan, Trespass, Ecco, New Look, Seasalt, White Stuff. BLC is £4.99 for 2 years, definitely worth it.

Squirrelchops1 · 27/04/2026 20:53

Easyjet holidays, virgin, jet2 and Tui are on BLC. Last minute.com as well.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 27/04/2026 21:08

The card is about a fiver for 2 years. I got more than that off my new sandals yesterday, it’s accepted in loads of places. Ok it might not be quite as good as it used to be but you can easily save more than the card costs.

CharlieBear29 · 29/04/2026 12:25

Is anyone able to check how much the Eurocamp blc discount is? There’s currently a 10% off code so I’m trying to work out if it would be better to use blc or 10% off.
The reason I haven’t bought a BLC yet is because I’m also a student and a lot of discounts are the same so I’m not sure if it’s worth getting a BLC as well or not.

thanks!

Why would you get a BLC being a student

Meredusoleil · 30/04/2026 17:44

Maybe they mean they are a trainee teacher, so currently both a student and working in education - so would qualify for both student discounts and the BLC?

CharlieBear29 · 30/04/2026 22:39

Yes that’s right - I don’t qualify for BLC just for being a student, but I am also working in a dental practice separately from uni.
