Considering a week away next year ..had a small windfall and want to spend it on a family holiday.

DCs will be 16 and 18...hoping the 18yo will want to come!

We've been to Tui Blue and Atlantica AU resorts which have been fabulous.

I've heard lots of good things about Ikos on MN.
We all love good food...a quieter resort - not rowdy.

Any recommendations please?

We're off to ikos odisia in October for husbands 60th. Can't wait! It looks absolutely stunning and a friend went last year when it just opened and said it was amazing. It's in massive grounds and in the beach so we are hoping for a relaxing time in luxury

@loobylou10
Sounds amazing....where is it?

This one's in corfu. Dassia. There are 2 ikos resorts at either end of dassia beach - - odisia and dassia. My friend thought odisia was nicer so we've booked there.

Thanks I'll take a look.

Nosy question....what ballpark figure was it?

We've paid £3k for 6 nights in a garden view room. That's minister though so probably cheapest it's ever going to be 😩. It's a special occasion though and it looks like a 'no expense spared' place. We've paid more than that for a weeks cruise and we won't spend anything whilst we're there.

We’ve booked the one in Mallorca in October, £2700 for DH and I for 7 nights incl flights. It was a BA deal which we had been tipped to keep an eye out for. Haven’t been to one before, but I think it looks incredible.

Those prices are less than I thought but we'll be going in school holidays 😫

Where's the best uk place to book?

I prefer to speak to a human being if possible. 😀

Olivia is really nice. I thought Dassia was too big.

Mrswalliams1 · 11/08/2024 17:04

We've been to Odisia and Aria. You can't go wrong with any Ikos resort but for us, Odisia came out top. The beach was incredible as food and accommodation.

Overfrog · 11/08/2024 17:14

We went to Ikos Olivia in May and had a great time but I've heard it is one of the most popular for small children (we have a 3 year old) so perhaps not the best for adults and older teens. The included day car hire was a highlight for us.

I've been to Ikos Oceania. Best holiday I've ever had. It's not far from a town so my OH was able to go there to watch sport (they didn't show any sport in the hotel). You could also hire (free) bikes to explore the area. And of course you get use of the Tesla for the day. If your teenagers will be happy sunbathing and swimming all holiday they should be ok but there isn't much else for them to do, definitely quiet.

Welshstaffy · 11/08/2024 17:41

Does it need really to be school holidays? Just thinking one might have finished GCSEs and one might have finished A levels so you could go before the summer half term?

I can vouch for Aria in Kos - we enjoyed everything and had a great day out in the Tesla.

JanefromLondon1 · 11/08/2024 18:06

Andalusia is the nicest one we've been to. Corfu ones were much bigger and service crap compared to Andalusia.

MonkeyTennis34 · 11/08/2024 18:06

@Welshstaffy
The younger one has just done her GCSEs so next year will be A levels for the older one and Y12 for the younger.
