Hi

Would love to do a city break in October or at Easter, with teens.

Looking for advice specifically on accommodation. Looking for central and affordable ... or tips on how else to do it cheaply.

Huge thanks in advance

I am currently in a hotel in Amsterdam with DH and 2 teens. We've only just arrived and are having a bit of a rest, but I really like our hotel and room.

We are staying at The Hoxton Lloyd in a "biggy bunk up" room - a big room/junior suite with a double bed and substantial bunk beds.

We're across the road from a Jumbo supermarket, which we've already raided, because who doesn't love a foreign supermarket?

We're a bit out of town, but there is a tram 2 mins away.

City centre is proper expensive …we stayed in Amsterdam sloterdijk ….5 mins and one stop on the train into city centre ( and 2 stops from the airport) …..it’s an area mainly of hotels and aparthotels…so a bit soulless ( but with some restaurants) but soooo much cheaper…..we had a lovely 2 bed apartment in an apart hotel for half the price of a similar one in town….Easter is always dearer as it tulip season! …we went in April thsi year…..hired bikes and cycled round the tulip 🌷 fields ….such a lovely lovely thing to do….Think if you happy to do hostels then lots of those in the city centre…..my son and DP stayed on a boat hotel for a couple of nights before me and DD flew out…..it was cheap….and they did have a laugh…. but quite loud with doors banging and no good if you get motion sickness! and had shared bathrooms.
top tip ….book stuff way way in advance…..eg Anne frank house sells out months in advance .
wear comfy trainers….you will be walking, walking and walking!
getting booking you will love it

sorry I read this as you were going to Amsterdam 😂😂😂

oh yeh you are!
