Help find me somewhere please? Snorkelling, water parks not 40 degrees

We are looking for somewhere to go on holiday next year. We normally go to lower west coast of France.

The Atlantic coast beaches are great but we fancy the Mediterranean so that we can maybe snorkel? I'm not expecting coral reefs, but just some calm waters.

Somewhere within a 1 hour drive from a decent airport. Some things to do such as nice towns and maybe a water park.

We aren't looking for holiday parks as we will rent a villa with a pool.

We will hire a car.

We are currently looking at south of France and Italy.

I know you can't always predict the weather but constant 40 degrees like Corfu is out. It will be for 2 weeks

Frejus? The old town is lovely and the market is fantastic. I believe there is a water park nearby. You can drive to St Tropez or, even better, park and take the ferry from Ste Maxime.
