Solo week away in uk

I am off work for two weeks middle of September, first week my DD and myself are going all inclusive to Cyprus. The week after I have nothing booked and I think I am going to need somewhere relaxing after a week in Cyprus with a 21 year old.
Thinking a cottage near the sea in the uk with a couple of pubs and cafes near by. Somewhere I can just chill and read books for a week. I love Cornwall but probably too far, I live in the north east. I also will be on my own.
Any suggestions Will be greatly appreciated

I loved Lincolnshire in the mablethorpe area as well as Hornsea near Hull. Latter will prob be fewer young children at that time whereas mablethorpe might be more toddler families out of season.
Or Skipton area is lovely, too, plenty of canals, cafes and general mooching. No sea though!
