What stops bites on holiday ? Apart from obviously bite spray although this doesn’t seem to work. Citronella candles don’t seem to stop them either, it’s seems I myself get bites more than my family too. I currently have a huge one on my head, the circumference is huge !

Deet is the only thing that works for me.

Deet.

And anti histamines when they have bitten.

I spent two weeks in Mauritius, sharing a bed with someone and under a mozzie net with anti mozzi spiral things you burn.

I was covered in bites, the other person in bed wasn't bitten at all. Then when he stayed an extra week and I went home he got bitten.

I think some people have tasty blood.

One of my friends was born in Jamaica, she says the local food stops them. I have no idea if this is true.

Do not have lights on if windows are open .

Anti mozzie soap (citronella), Avon skin so soft and a wristband (also citronella), plus a daily antihistamine so if you do get bitten you won't react. Seems to work for us. We've used Deet before but try and avoid as you end up smelling like diesel!
