How to find best price for a hotel?

We want to go to a particular hotel just for a night and can go anytime. Does anyone know a quick way to see all of the room prices for a month all at once so we can pick the cheapest date, please?

Click on the hotel on Google Maps. They then call up all of the main hotel sites (you may have to enter dates). Booking dot com is rarely cheapest. Note that the prices shown are the average per night for the duration of your stay.

Also check the hotel's own website. They can't undercut the online companies publicly but there may be clues. You can sometimes get discounts via, say, "Join our loyalty club (no previous visit needed, wink wink)", or perhaps "Free prosecco in the room for direct booking".

If you know the hotel well, you can also call and try to negotiate a deal, cutting out the middleman. The problem is that the major booking companies use mystery shoppers to pretend to be punters looking to undercut them, and apply sanctions if the hotel is selling their rooms cheaper direct.

A couple of months ago we checked into a very swish hotel where we had booked a standard double on their website. We got a complimentary upgrade to a huge suite! I doubt if the Booking dot com customers got that.
