Accomodation on Skiathos and Skopelos

We are planning a twin-island holiday to Skiathos and Skopelos next year and was wondering if anyone had any ideas to accomodation. Not really looking for resort type hotel, but open for boutique or just simple guest house or apartments. Would like to ideally stay near restaurants etc/ walking distance

We stayed in Skiathos town when we went, it's got loads of bars and restaurants but you need to travel out to the beaches, the buses got packed though I also preferred going to the beaches by boat. The alternative is to stay near a beach and go to town in the evening.

We only did a day trip to Skopelos so can't advise on it.

We did those two islands many years ago.
As I recall it was a package holiday and we just chose hotels to suit. There were no really big hotels.
Skopolos town is beautiful but very hilly and we were at the top of a steep climb. There was no beach there we had to get taxi to a beach. Skiathos is much busier and you can choose town or beach accommodation

Skiathos premier was fab

You could look at the following in Skiathos - first two, an easy 10 min walk into small town, third option a bit further out, but in beautiful location - so much great accommodation, you just need to decide where you want to be on the Island - I liked been near the town for evening etc so not too afar out - and then driving to beaches during day

Villa Ella - Skiathos, family run, beautiful gardens, lovely rooms
Villa Skiathos - bit more luxurios, also lovely
Cape Kanapista - lovely pool, views, great small beach

Skopelos is good but you might need a car to get around to beaches

I stayed at Skiathos Premier, lovely hotel but I think I'd have rather stayed in Skiathos Town.

I also had a 2 week holiday on Skopelos (much preferred it to Skiathos) and stayed at Panormos Beach Hotel, which was fabulous.

You might also like to do a day trip to Alonnisos from Skopelos, it's gorgeous and very easy to do yourself on the Seajet.

Brand new and only 20 rooms. Adult only though. Immaculate with boutique style rooms.

Quick walk into Skiathos town so never a shortage of anything to do. Went to Skopolos for a day trip and definitely a quieter island. Skiathos town was classy and not like any other main island town I've been to except Fira in Santorini.

Lots of little resorts along the south coast of Skiathos with a cheap connecting bus but nothing really there.

We went to Exantas restaurant which was amazing, at the beach just outside Skiathos town (can walk it) - and wanted to return to stay at the accommodation on the beach called Megali Ammos house, looked perfect.
