I'm in need of some inspiration please, I want to take DH and DS16 and DS13 away for a few days in the October half term.
The plan was always to go to Barcelona, DH and I have been and wanted to take the boys now they are older, but with the protests there and the general feeling of not wanting tourists we have been out off.
Have thought about Lisbon or maybe Porto, and also Seville as an alternative, a suggestions greatly welcome, I was so set on Barcelona that I'm finding it hard to get find somewhere else!

Porto is great - lovely location on the river Douro, and you can also take the tram out to the beach

I went with ds when he was 16 to Rome. He loves history. It was fantastic. He just loved it and so dd l. The food was an extra bonus.
We have gone to Barcelona too but Rome was better.

I agree with @samarrange , much preferred Valencia and Palma to Barcelona. Valencia has a lovely old town, there's the modern city of arts & science which your teenagers may like, and it's a 25 minute bus journey from the old town to the beach .

We visited Budapest earlier this year and really enjoyed it.
