Intrepid safari

I'm thinking of booking the Botswana Safari with Intrepid for my family (2 adults and 2 teenage DC). Has anyone used Intrepid before or been on the Botswana Safari with them? It seems like a budget way of seeing the Okavango Delta which we otherwise couldn't afford to do.

My only hesitation so far is lack of evening game drives. Has anyone been and managed to book these locally?

Have you spoken with Hartleys Safaris? Their founder owned several lodges there.

I haven't spoken to Hartley's I will give them a call.

@Fedupofwaiting1 As this is a dirt cheap overland rrip, your animal watching will be minimal. Travelling days won’t be much fun. You aren’t getting to see animals on game drives because you aren’t staying anywhere with dedicated safari vehicles. I’ve recently come back from Botswana where we had a week on safari and I do not see how you can do it on the cheap and actually do proper game drives.

Also if you are staying in a wet area, you won’t get game drives. Hence mokoro trips in the Delta. I looked at the Intrepid Okavango holiday and it’s just a slog and basic camping (very basic!). I’d swerve. Plus safaris in Botswana cost a lot. They don’t have huge lodges and it’s mostly small very nice camps. This holiday is too many camps and too
much travelling. By comparison, Harley’s are luxury. You could try mobile camping. At least you get a safari vehicle and loads of time looking for animals.
