Any tips or recommendations? It's our first time!

Which area are you staying?

Make sure you hire a car as public transport is not great there.

Beaches are nicer near Ajaccio or Calvi than on the Bastia side.

Some really nice mountain walks if you have the stamina.

Food is much more inspired by Italian than French cuisine.

Very hot in August!

Ajaccio, the capital, has a nice museum and lots of stuff to see relating to Napoleon :). Some nice boat trips as well that you can book from the port.

Do not be surprised if one or two restaurants don't accept cards, or hint strongly that they would prefer cash. The grip of the French centrist state is a little looser in Corsica. 😂

Calvi is one of my favourite places on the planet

We are staying in a euro camp called arinella bianca.

Based on where you are I would visit Porto Vecchio and do a mountain visit.

I prefer the other side of the island (Ajaccio, Calvi) personally.

As I mentioned get a rental car if you can and travel a bit :).
