We are travelling home via the tunnel tomorrow and have saved the best till last: flexiplus at Calais.

What do you fill your bag with?

We are still eating our way through the brownies and border biscuits from our outward journey over two weeks ago 😂

Looking forward to topping back up when we go home.

Don't usually do flexi plus as it's so much more expensive but we didn't know what day we were coming home so it gave us flexibility. And upgraded last minute on our way out as traffic was bad

Oh gosh never pay flexi plus - the shuttle lets you in the next available train anyway!! We were 3 hours early for our Calais crossing last time and got on a train as soon as we got there!!! Even for the free food!!!

I wouldn't count on it. Yes, sometimes they do if they have capacity but we also were offered to pay for a change in slot and if you go during school holidays it won't happen or you are at a utterly unusual time.

It's the same as paying for premium economy or business class. Do it if you want and have the money or leave it.

I don’t understand - you are paying a hell of a lot more for a flexi plus ticket with “free” refreshments. How is it good value for money?

Correct, there's no way anyone can eat that price differential in sandwiches and macaroons, but it feels good in the moment - its usually like a feeding frenzy at the zoo

This was posted last year. The OP has probably finished eating and drinking by now. She might even be back home 😀.

Yes. I am home now. But no regrets on flexiplus.
