Is it weird to book annual leave with work for next Easter now?

Just that really. I don’t want my manager to think I’m weird to put in a few days now for 8 months away… but also I want to book it.

I usually do quite last minute stuff so don’t think I’ve put in anything so far in advance before.

Absolutely not! I'm shocked that we're in August already, the months roll by and it will be Easter before you know it. If you have specific dates you want off, the more notice you can give the better IMO.

we are so short staffed we have no choice but to book leave 13 months in advance!! if we know we are going to want or need the time off.. we book it!

you snooze you lose

I have already booked next years 6 weeks holidays off, we have to book the leave before we book the holiday. I’d book now for Easter if you’re able, especially if you want to book to go somewhere.

Not weird at all.

NatureofSociety · 02/08/2024 16:26

Totally normal!

LateDecemberLove · 02/08/2024 16:28

I would approve this at work, I wouldn't think it weird at all I'd just think you've booked something for that time and are being organised.

littleoldme3 · 02/08/2024 16:31

Not at all. I have to submit my annual leave request for the following year (1st Feb 2025 to 31st Jan 2026) before the end of September this year 🙃
Mine are already in and approved.

Iwantamarshmallowman · 02/08/2024 16:37

I book mine as soon as I can, even if it's 18 months ahead.

ThePoshUns · 02/08/2024 16:46

Not weird. I had to put my leave requests for 2025/26 in May
