Currency in Turkey

Hi, I’m off to Turkey next week with my husband and 12 year old daughter, she’s keen to go to the markets and little shops etc and I wondered if people have been lately and recommend which currency to use? We were going to take Lira but a few friends said they prefer euros and now another friend is there saying they want sterling! I can do a mix of it all as we can use up any euros or sterling when we are back but don’t want to waste time with TL if they don’t want it. We are staying in Lara Beach if it makes any difference! Thanks!

Everywhere & everybody will take TL.
Taxis, small shops might not take £ or € ; and if they do they'll probably
1 not have the right change or
2 rip you off with exchange rate. Both amount to the same thing !

You’re better with TL. Be prepared to barter in the bazaars, it’s great fun. I’ve still got some beautiful leather sandals I bought in the bazaar at Marmaris eight years ago. Have a great time, I love Turkey.
