Hi everyone,

I have booked a holiday to Thailand.

27th May - 7th June - should I expect severe rainfall?

Yep, it's rainy season.

In my experience, a typical day in the wet season involves high humidity building up to a pretty intense rain storm in the afternoon, then it should clear for the day. So you should still enjoy some good weather.

When it rains, it really really rains though!

I'm in Thailand at the moment. I've been here since the end of June and I've been all over. Current in koh phi phi. The weather is amazing atm. Yes there's been a few thunder storms and there as one that had two days of wind but apart from that it's perfect. Blue skies today. 😊😊

We’re currently in Koh Phangan, the tour guide we had yesterday said that he thinks May and June are the very best months to visit the islands on this side (Samui, Phangan and Tao), generally dry and very clear water.

You'll likely get a heavy short downpour daily

Bit annoying for snorkelling because it muddies the waters close to shore

But otherwise great

Yep, it's rainy season.

That doesn't mean anything. I've been in the middle of the rainy season for a week now and it hasn't rained. I spent 3 weeks in the not rainy season part sans it rained most days 🤷‍♀️
