Norwegian Fjord Cruise

Hey, I was wondering if anyone had done a Cruise in the Norwegian Fjords and what your experience was like, and with which company? Currently debating between MSC (Virtuosa) and P&O (Iona) next year in August. DS will be 5 then so entertainment for kids will also be a consideration.

We have been on MSC Euribia before and DS enjoyed the kids club there and the shows were great for him. Not sure how P&O will compare both in kids activities and the cruise as a whole with the destinations. Despite both being in the Norwegian Fjords, the places do differ slightly

I think both ships are similar actually. I've done Virtuosia and my Aunt Iona to the Fjords last September.
I liked the MSC drink/ to/ food package but P&O drinks are cheaper if not a big drinker so that might be a factor to think about.
Virtuosia has a whole kids club area up on deck 18 and it was cute by the end of the holiday that lots of younger kids had found their own hangouts playing nicely. Staff were great with them.
I think some of the cabins on Iona are better. I know they have those weird ones on the prom deck but others look really well painted.notji.g wrong with MSC but I thought they hadn't got round the shopping container vibe. We were on 14 which has grey decor. 🙂Balconies feel small .

Personally I would go for whichever has the better price ( and Flam)

Thanks for that. Good to know that it seems they don't differ too much, and you didn't hate MSC or hear bad things about P&O. P&O is a little cheaper but doesn't go to Flaam. It does look very pretty though!

I went about 10 years ago. I think I went on P&O. The views were amazing. I went in early September and left in Sunshine but after about 3 hours it was cooler. They have us a blanket so we could do it on deck in comfort. Also Norwegian lines do a cruise there too. I prefer the Norwegian lines cruises. I've been on several and great entertainment in the evenings. Also you don't have to dress up in the evening if you don't want to.
