Paying abroad

I haven't been abroad for well over ten years. Is it still the expectation that you taking your spending money with you? Or can I use my bank card to pay for things?

I'm going with cash.

We’re having a week in Carinthia (Austria) and are really surprised how many attractions/coffee shops are cash only.

Revolut is perfect, at least for Europe.
