Croatia advice!

Hoping to book a holiday to Croatia next year but really struggling to work out where! Have to be able to fly from Glasgow or Edinburgh. We have three children 3-8. I want to snorkel, possibly each day from where we stay or a few trips by boat. Would prefer not to have to go to far once we reach Croatia as traveling with kids is no fun! But don’t like cities or places that are too busy! Prefer apartments or villas so space for kids to play but food options near by. Would love ideas of places that might suit. It all looks so nice!

We have been several times and just returned from an area called Mlini, near Dubrovnik. It is 15 mins in taxi from the airport and approx same distance in other direction to Dubrovnik. We stayed in Hotel Mlini however they also have apartments. The sea was beautiful! We have also stayed in Rovinj, fly into Pula but not sure if they do Glasgow flights now. Can’t recommend Croatia highly enough!

Cavtat or Mlini

You can fly from Glasgow to Pula and the Verudela Peninsula has a mix of villas and apartments, and snorkeling seems to be good there!

We stayed in Baska Voda on the Makarska Riviera a few years ago. We flew to Split. It was one of the best holidays we have ever had.

We are currently staying near Pula in Istria in Airbnb apartment with swimming pool. 15 mins away from airport. Pula city is interesting, lots to do in area. You need hire car but cape Kamenjak has good beaches for snorkeling. We have been on sea kayak expedition with guide yesterday. Last year we flew to Zadar and stayed in apartment on outskirts of Nin. Standard of accomodation is very good and we have loved both our holidays here. Sad to return home tomorrow

Can you fly to Split? Is so then lots of islands in easy reach. We had a brilliant holiday in a villa on the edge of Bol, it's on the island of Braç.

Fly to Pula from Glasgow. Airport is small and car hire is very easy.

We stayed at Valkanela campsite in a premium comfort mobile home - we had a shared small pool on our doorstep. The site is brilliant, great pools, lovely walks, the best bakery van ever, and great places to visit in easy reach.

Also, easy snorkelling in the sea from the campsite. Lots of watersports available on site.

Split is busy but you could start there, then pick an island villa

Just wanted to check you were aware that most beaches there are pebbles and not sand, just in case you LO’s prefer that, if that’s not an issue though you’ll have an amazing time as the sea is gorgeous and the country beautiful .

I know you prefer villas but look at the Valamar hotels they are beautiful.
I have been to Porec in the north which is lovely - very Italian style. Stayed on Valamar Isabella island.
Also just been to Dubrovnik. It isn't a typical city so don't be put off by that. Areas like Mlini and Lapad are great for families. Caveat also meant to be lovely.
