Dover advice please!!

We’re due to catch a ferry to Calais early tomorrow morning and just read latest advice on the website which says to arrive 2 hours before departure. Just wondering if this is necessary and we should just suck it up, or whether it’s overcaution and an hour/hour and a half would be fine. Any recent experience would be super helpful, thank you!

My parents sailed Sunday morning from Dover.

They did arrive 2 hours before - all was fine and they boarded and departed on time.

They have always followed the advice as they have a large caravan and the port can be very busy! They once queued for 2 hours on the road into the port (they were just put on the next ferry so no major issue thankfully)
