Weekend Away - Town Centre Hotels in the South with a Swimming Pool

Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations. I'm going away for a night with my friend for her 50th Birthday near the end of September.

We were thinking about Canterbury, but we want a hotel with a swimming pool and preferably spa facilities (dont need treatments). Ideally we would like said hotel to be in a town centre so we can go shopping and go out in the evening. Looking to go somewhere in the South, preferably somewhere that takes an hour/an hour and a half on the train. Any recommendations would be very welcome

Brighton will always be my go to for your criteria
Windsor too is a lovely weekend away.

The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is worth looking at.
