Menorca Recommendations wanted

Can anyone recommend a hotel or apartment complex in Menorca? Open to any area or board. Self catering fine.

Just me and DH, want somewhere relaxing and not too loud or busy.

Plan to go late August / Early September.

Budget somewhere around £2500 max for flights and accommodation from the North West.

I've been to Menorca many times, and we love Playas de Fornells. It's a pretty resort, with gardens, apartments/villas built in a rustic style, and a couple of hotels. Some UK travel companies go there, but you can also rent apartments privately.

It's quiet, but not empty. There's two or three restaurants on the resort, a bar, a snack bar, and a couple of supermarkets. It's also a walk to a fabulous restaurant off the resort (Ca'na Marga), or you can do a long walk/taxi ride into the fishing harbour of Fornells for a bigger choice of restaurants/shops. There are buses to the major island towns. A hire car is helpful, but not essential. There's a lovely beach within easy walking distance. Some may find it too quiet, but we love it.

That said, most of the resorts on the island are fairly low-key. Somewhere like Son Bou, or resorts nearer to the main towns of Mao or Cuitadella may suit you better, if you want a little more going on.
