If so, where are you going and which month are you going in? Looking for some inspiration.

No but contemplating Ireland.

Sunnydiary · 29/07/2024 20:57

Have booked New York in May with adult DD, and a lovely cottage in Oxfordshire in July with friends. Will wait until Nov/Dec and then book something for September.

Possibly Malta/Cyprus/South of France.

I spend a disproportionate amount of my disposable income on holidays and love all the planning!

MissAmbrosia · 30/07/2024 08:50

Haven't booked yet but planning to interrail down one side of Italy and back up the other with a longer stop in Puglia or Calabria in the middle. I also quite fancy Stockholm.

garlictwist · 30/07/2024 08:51

What? No! I haven't even booked my 2024 holiday. I've got the time off (a week off in two weeks time) but usually only book flights etc just before we go. Should probably do it soon.

ICriedAllTheWayToTheChipShop · 02/08/2024 20:42

I've got my 2024 holiday in November this year and will probably book for 2025 when I get back. I'd normally have it sorted by now, but this year is the first time I've travelled with this particular company, and even though they have some amazing looking tours, I want to see what they're like before I commit to another one. But it will be either Chile or Peru in September.

I will blow your mind then by saying I have my main summer holiday for 2026 booked!

StSwithinsDay · 02/08/2024 21:35

Canada for 2 weeks in April.
South of France 10 days in September.
And weekends away in between.

We're about to book next years and it's either Dominican Republic or Mexico for 2 weeks all inclusive.

We have Dominican booked for July. Same place as last year.

StandOnTheHorizon · 03/08/2024 09:05

Not booked yet, but should do it soon! All new experiences/countries planned for next year.

Athens in April - hoping it will be a nice mild temperature for exploring as we are all fair-skinned and a little heat-intolerant.

Iceland in summer - a place we want to see in all seasons, but our “cool destination” summer holidays have managed to coincide with 32 degree heatwaves for the last couple of years, so we’re going to attempt an even colder place!

Vienna in December with family - never been on a winter break before as I’ve been too busy finishing work up for the break and creating Christmas magic for little people, but they’re teens now.

Belize in May

Sort of. Flights to Japan are booked for April. We will finalise the itinerary and book hotels sometime this Autumn.

We might go on another trip somewhere in Europe later in the year but nothing firmly decided or booked.

Oh what is your plan? Love to visit Japan!

Sockmate123 · 04/08/2024 17:58

Kitkat1523 · 27/07/2024 21:58

We are in the planning stage….it’s a 3 week trip to Vancouver and rockies

This sounds amazing!! What is your itinerary please?

So far the provisional plan is:

Fly into Tokyo and stay in Tokyo for three nights. We’ll take one day trip from there, not sure where yet but Kawagoe looks the most likely.

Then travel to Osaka by Shinkansen on the afternoon of day 4 and stay for 5 nights.
plan is to rent a car for Day 5 and 6 and visit Uji and Arashiyama on one day and drive around Wakayama prefecture to see some of the sights on the other.
Day 7 we’ll activate a Sanyo-San’in rail pass. We’ll probably visit Himeji and Nara on days 7-8.
On day 9 we’ll take the Shinkansen to Hiroshima and stay there for 5 nights. We’ll use our rail passes to visit Onomichi, Kurashiki and Iwakuni from there. We are flying home from Hiroshima, so no need to cross back to Tokyo again.

Our main aim is to see more of Japan and go to some prefectures that we haven’t visited before.

This might help you. I follow this redheaded lady and her children on SM. An April visit.
