Acropolis while pregnant?

Hi everyone,

has anyone got advice for visiting the Acropolis while pregnant? I’m in Athens and would really like to go, but there’s a heatwave at the moment and it’ll be around 35 degrees when we’re planning to be there. Can anyone tell me how tough the walk is, and if they’d advise it for a 6 month pregnant lady? I understand there used to be a lift, but it’s no longer in service.

thank you!

It's a lot of uphill walking and v little shade. I would either go at the crack of dawn or as late as possible in the evening. You'll still sweat buckets though. Why don't you go the archaeological museum instead? It's air conditioned and amazing!

Take it very steady, drink plenty of water and wear a hat. Wear shoes with a good grip too because some of the steps are quite slippery.

I'd go for an early morning time slot. You're probably best booking the tickets online well in advance.

Thanks, I was thinking this as well! Our slot is 6pm which is still very very hot.
