Has anyone been to Puy du Fou in early September? We could go in the first week but I think that is still the school holidays in France - will it be packed?

School starts on 2nd of September in France this year, so not holidays any more.
We jsat went during summer holidays and it was fine, no issues getting into any shows - was during the week though, haven't tried weekends.

Whenever you go, have a great time. It's the most wonderful, extravagant and plain bonkers theme park I have ever been to.

OP - i would like yto ask a question please!

I am thinking of going in August - do you all stay on site or nearby? Are there busses from hotels and so on?

Now wondering whether the last Sunday before schools go back will be carnage or whether it will be empty because everyone is getting their school bags ready....

We've done both - stayed on site on one visit, and another year stayed in Angers and driven in. There aren't many other hotels nearby to the park so you might end up driving a fair way. If you can stay on site then I'd recommend it - you can go in to the parks earlier and the hotels are just as bonkers as the park. I'd imagine that the Cinescenie is sold out for this August but if you can get tickets then it's totally worth it, and staying in the park makes even more sense as you can just walk back to your hotel afterwards.

We've been twice in the middle of August and whilst the park was very busy and the shows were usually full I definitely wouldn't describe it as carnage - it was all very civilised and well organised.
