Surfing holiday for 11yo

Blankiefan · 21/07/2024 15:21

My 11yo kid tried surfing / boogie boarding on a wave machine thing on hols this year and loved it. Wed like to find a holiday next year where we / mostly the kid (!) could get proper surf lessons and maybe similar watersports like paddle boarding. But I want a super nice hotel with usual holiday stuff too. Budget isn't really a problem. Somewhere in Europe ideally.

Highly recommend this one.

There are a lot of hotels in Europe where you can do this. Portugal and France are the hotspots in Europe but Canary Islands also feature.

UK wise if he gets hooked and you want to take him for a few days then I can recommend Woolacombe in Devon, great surf school or Cornwall Harlyn Bay.

Fuerteventura is known for its surfing scene. It's cheap too. Look around Corralejo.

South west France or Portugal. We've done surfing holidays to Biarritz, Lagos/Sagres and the coast near Lisbon. SW France was the easiest as there were loads of surf schools and accommodation near the beaches.
