We have unexpectedly got a few days in August where we are free and able to go on holiday.

We need recommendations as we haven't holidayed abroad from the UK before.

Ideally 2-3 hours direct flight from Heathrow (we live 5 minutes away).
Swimming pool type hotel with beach nearby
Not bothered about culture with this type of holiday, just want sun and relaxing.
Cheapest possible options
2 adults and 11 year old

Worth considering what you could do by Eurostar, as via Paris you could get to the south of France, or west near Bordeaux. I cannot imagine you will find flying from Heathrow much fun in August, especially if you have not flown recently.

Most low cost holiday options that include flying won't go from Heathrow anyway, usually are from Luton or Stansted.

Try BA as they have packages out of Heathrow. We are doing that to Cyprus this summer.
