Is flying premium economy overnight a waste?

Looking at booking an airmiles redemption on british airways. We only have enough points to go premium for one way.

I think we should do premium for the 11hr day flight and economy for the 10 hr night flight. We can’t sleep on night flights even in business.

Dh thinks economy for the day flight and premium overnight.

I'd go premium for the day flight

I've done it on overnight flights a few times and it's totally worth it. Do it for night as more room to get comfy

Night flight for sure

Night flight

Night flight for sure!

Night time for sure! I physically cannot sleep in economy, we did an evening transatlantic recently in premium and it was a game changer.

My opinion now unless business is on a good points deal I think premium is more than enough.

For long haul I always go premium for overnights. More space to sleep.

I don't bother for day time flights.

Another vote for night flight (but I am a reasonable sleeper even in cattle class so any premium night sounds glorious!)

We always book exit row economy. Plenty of room to get up when you want to and cheaper than premium.

Difficult one. An 11 hour flight during the day and feel interminable and anything to help it pass more quickly can be helpful.
OTOH bring able to stretch out in a bit more comfort and get some decent sleep is invaluable. So I’d probably plump for that.
