How can I extend my travel insurance if I've extended my trip

Hi. I was supposed to go home from Majorca on Wednesday but decided to extend my stay until next Wednesday (family joining me). Prob is, when trying to get further travel insurance, I can't get any because I'm 'still travelling'.

Does anyone know what I can do please. Bit worried.

Contact your original insurer and ask theM to extend your cover.

Admiral travel insurance have said they can't extend or renew it since I'm out of the UK. I'm feeling anxious. Not sure what to do.

I had a similar situation to this and Revolut has travel insurance linked to there bank card and this could be taken out whilst abroad I believe but do check there terms and conditions especially re pre existing conditions etc. The other option is companies like travel nomad depending on your age etc.

Do you have your GHIC card?
Obviously won't cover you for repatriation but will cover you for any emergencies.

If not you can apply online for immediate coverage.

And in case you were about to say how would they know they probably wouldn't but fi they did it would invalidate the cover if she lied so risky

I have tried but they all state that you can't take it out if you are already abroad. I should have taken another one out while I had the other policy. It's obvious now but it wasn't then. Lesson learned I suppose!

Exactly, if something happened they will probably want to see my outgoing flight details, which is a bit silly because surely I would be able to somehow prove when an incident happened.

Don't worry too much about it. You're in a civilised country where not too much can go wrong. The most expensive potential disaster is emergency medical treatment, and your GHIC covers that. Repatriations are extremely rare. Most of the other things that travel insurance covers are things that you take as normal risks back home anyway. Don't let this ruin your holiday.

I did exactly the same last year and my husband was able to extend my insurance or start a new policy. It can be done but I am in Vancouver so the time difference means I cannot ask him now Can call him later to ask him .Enjoy and relax. Absolutely love Majorca.

I had never been to Majorca but always heard about it. I was not expecting such a beautiful place! I'm blown away to be honest. I've travelled to many places but this Island is heaven, hence why I have stayed on 😊

You can buy specialist extension - I had to do this when dd was travelling. I will try and find the company and will post again
