Looking to go away for 7-10 days in early/mid September with a good friend. We are single, mid-50s, looking for a 2 bedroom pretty villa or apartment somewhere tranquil and picturesque but with access in the evenings to some good restaurants. Maybe the edge of a village or town, as we do not want to drive. 15–20 minute walk would be fine though.
Ideally, we want a private pool but would be okay to share if needs be. But we would want some private outside space of some sort - terrace, patio or balcony.
Beach / coastal location would be great but not essential.
We are looking to chill out, read in the shade, soak up the local atmosphere, eat good food etc. Will leave cultural/ sightseeing stuff for a city break at another time.
I'm flying from UK (London or stansted), friend is coming from Dublin.
Ideally not paying more than £200-350 a night.
Considering Greek islands, Croatia, Italy, Spain or France. It's a wide net hence my request - can anyone recommend any towns, resorts or areas to check out?
