Hello, can anyone recommend day trips to get outside of London? We are based in NW and really enjoyed Odds Farm. Looking for outdoor activities for toddlers and a max 60-75 minute drive.

thanks much

@Jaylden Whipsnade Zoo. My DC went when around 18 months to 2 and loved the penguins. the desert area and the lemurs. Good picnic areas and lots of other animals to see. Take the car in and go all day. It’s not cheap but it’s a very big area.

County Shows are always fun. Lots of big farm implements and tractors as well as animals. Bucks county Show is on 29 August. Other counties have them too.

DC liked the Chiltern woodland at Ashridge (great for bluebells in April) and there’s loads of car parking, play aread and trails in Wendover Woods. DC also liked the playground at Marlow and a walk along the Thames. Hobbs of Henley welcome DC on their boat trips on the Thames. It’s a beautiful part of the River.

The ZSL museum at Tring is unique. It’s the Rothschild Cillection. Great for a wet day. They have a flea in a Mexican costume! It’s quite near Ashridge so you can combine the two.

Hertfordshire Zoo (formerly Paradise Wildlife Park). Near Broxbourne. I haven't been for years but it used to be good.
From NW London there is also the Gruffalo trail in Horsenden Forest.
