Disney Cruise price adjustment after fully paid

I have made booking of Disney Cruise line in February and paid all in May. The said date is 12th August. When I do the check in, I found that the price dropped by 20% which is £800 difference. I have called Customer Service of Disney Cruise but their response is asking me to cancel and rebook but cancellation fee is £26xx. Anyone has experienced this and any advice? Thanks

I think that's quite standard - if the price had increased by £800 and you were being asked to pay the extra, that wouldn't be okay. They often don't "price match" reductions for fully paid holidays, especially ones so close to departure.

I think you pay your money, you take your chances... it's a bit like buying a dress and then it going on sale a few weeks later, you can't go back and ask for it cheaper.

Unfortunately cruises like other holidays, pricing is fluid, they can go up or down. We find it’s best not to look, we pay more to choose cabins we want, often when you hear someone say they only paid so much for their cruise, their cabin is usually in an unattractive position. I spoke to a gentleman once who told me he got a bargain and only booked a few days before cruise, I asked him where his cabin was and it was right next to kitchens, noise all day and smells from cooking was awful, but he was happy and he and his wife spent all day out of cabin, which isn’t a holiday for me.
