Gîte in France, walking distance to restaurants

Can anyone recommend any nice Gites in France, with a pool, within walking distance of a village or similar for restaurants, bakery etc? Not fussed on location although mid to south probably best as we do want the weather. I’ve been browsing for hours and am finding it really hard to find places that aren’t miles from anywhere!

Gites do tend to be miles from anywhere - they are normally country properties. Better to look on e.g Booking.com at an area you like and search for a pool, near the town. Apartments are more likely. We stayed at Le Banquet in the Dordogne which is probably 20 mins or so walk in to Les Eyzies and could highly recommend. They used to have some other accommodation nearer to town but I think it's changed hands since we went. https://lebanquet.com/en/
