Hi all
Does anyone know if it is worth getting an emovis tag for driving in France please?
We would only be going once
Thanks in advance

If only going once, possibly not. I have one but drive on france once or twice a year for long distances. The tag saves you having to stop and pay at each barrier, so it's just a convenience thing, it just bills me monthly.

If you mean a Telepass type thing, do you know anyone in France? It was easy for me to pay by card, give my Italian address and get my relatives to send it to me in England. Bip and Go need a French bank account, but Telepass lets you pay by card, as long as it's sent to an EU address. So much easier, especially if you're driving alone in a British car; you don't have to climb over the seat to pay!

And don't forget your Crit Air sticker if you're going to any major cities. If you pay through the French government site, they send you a coupon which will cover you if the actual sticker doesn't arrive in time.

We have one. We don't go to France that often but it just makes life easier when we do.

The tag makes going through the peage much easier, especially if you are driving a british car (and even more so if you don't have a front passenger). You can send it back and get your deposit back after the trip if you won't use it again

Don’t forget a blue car park time pass too! Just been stung with a fine for parking in a bay without one - you need one and adhere to the time limit!

Love mine - best bit if the holiday - approaching the barrier and it opening 😊 - we’ve had ours for many years .

We have a BIP and go tag which has worked well for us over the past 5+ years — we don't have a french bank account so is definitely possible without! Hoping it's going to work for us in Italy too this year

It was definitely worth it. So much easier and no queuing.

ChockysChimichanga · 14/07/2024 21:28

Yes, they are well worth it.

fiorentina · 14/07/2024 21:31

Agree they save time and hassle, love just driving through and not queuing.

fruitpastille · 14/07/2024 21:38

DH bloody loves having one. And it means I can relax as well as not faffing with tickets and paying on the passenger side.

longdistanceclaraclara · 14/07/2024 22:42

Worth it. Just makes life easier if you use on a 12 hour drive.

Great thank you for your insight! Seems to be a consensus.

What's the blue card parking thingy??

Since Brexit do not think our blue badge is valid in France which is another crazy side effect
