Hi I am trying to organise a weekend in Paris for myself and my bestfriend to thank her for helping me through a rough patch in my life. She has always wanted to go but I am on a bit of a budget can anyone help me out with nice no frills accomodation in a safe area of Paris that is close to either the metro or walking distance from most of the tourist spots. I have seen Hotel Verneuil mentioned on here alot but unfortunately as lovely as it looks it is out of my price range
Have found a couple of hotels in the ninth district but don't really know what that means and which districts are safer than others!
Would really appreciate some advice TIA

we stayed at a hotel within walking distance of the gard du north, which saved on transfers. I think we paid about £330 all in for B& B for 2 nights. It was a nice little place, sorry can't remember the name, but we felt safe. was near the sacre coeur

I used to live in Paris. I lived in the 11th near Bastille. It's not the poshest area but is very safe. There are lots of bars and restaurants and I used to walk around on my own at night all the time with no probs.

It's about 20 mins walk from Notre Dame, very near the Marais (Place des Vosges, v picturesque) and line one on the metro goes through it which also stops at all the major touristy bits.

Can't help with hotels I'm afraid as obv never needed one but the area is a good one.

just googled some for you

the first one looks closest to Bastille, but others not far to walk at all
