Anyone been Majorca in October?

I've just seen a good price for Majorca for the end of October but is it a bad idea weather wise? The kids will probably want to go in the pool will they even be open?

We went to Palma nova in October and had very hit and miss weather. Lovely some days but a couple of bad days rain too.

We went 2 years ago I think. It was in October, hotel pool was absolutely freezing, Managed one quick dip in the sea, also freezing. The weather was lovely for walking around though, just not for sunbathing and swimming!

We went in the third week of October, it was amazing. High 20s, low 30s every day. The pool was a bit cold but the sea was wonderful. Most restaurants nearby still open but they were all planning to be closed by the end of the month.

It’s great.

We went Oct last year and it was very warm 🥵. But apparently that was unusual.

Been 2 out of last 3 Octobers. Gorgeous weather. Beautiful sea, so much better than earlier in the season. It's a great time to visit.

I've been to Calla Millor a couple of times and was thinking of Palma Nova next time. Partly for proximity to airport and partly because the beach looks fab. I like a busy resort.

We’re just back from another trip to Palma Nova - it’s approx 25 mins from the airport, the beach is amazing and it’s busy with a great relaxed vibe, lots of couples and families, and definitely not stags/hens/Brits abroad.

Thanks @Thursdaygirl . I have never been because I believed it was like Magaluff but have recently spoken to a couple of people who put me right. It sounds exactly what we want.
Do you recommend any particular hotels?
I usually book half board because it suits DH dietary needs. I also like a sea view. Cost not a priority.

I have been in mid October and the weather was lovely. The pool was still a nice. But I got bitten to bits by the mosquitoes.

I've stayed in these three hotels and would recommend all of them:

Sol Palma Nova
Globales Santa Lucia
Globales PalmaNova

Thanks you

Yes, it was lovely. Thunderstorms every afternoon but still warm and sunny otherwise.

Mynewnameis · 15/07/2024 16:07

I went a few times as a kid. The outdoor unheated pool was pretty unbearable. It wasn't quite sunbathing weather. I tend to go to the canaries for reliability. We tried the algarve one year and got 50% rain.

Hangerslip · 15/07/2024 16:13

I've been in October twice. Both times beautifully warm, much better for me than the heat of the summer. Swam in the sea comfortably.. one time we had a lot of rain, but it tended to be very hard for an hour or so and then all over

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 17/07/2024 07:51

If you want guaranteed sun and pool weather I'd do Greece or turkey instead
