Hi everyone, I realise this has probably been done to death and I apologise if so, but I am looking for a UK holiday destination for next summer that fills the following criteria:

  • Dog-friendly
  • Near beach
  • Nice places to eat
  • Good walks for me and dogs
  • Near or in city/town with decent shopping
  • Stuff around to entertain teenagers
  • Not Devon as I grew up there

I'm open to any ideas, from caravans to glamping to cottages - probably not bring-your-own-tent campsites though, I can only cope with a weekend's camping at a time! Thank you!

We use Haven holiday hideaway you get the caravan without using the entertainment venue it's just me and Dh though but use it as a base. Last time we went to weymouth.

Edited to replace description.

How about scottish seaside resorts? North Berwick ticks all these boxes or even better, st Andrews? Lots to do, beautiful beaches, thriving town centre, dog friendly. Short distance from Dundee for shopping with Edinburgh not much further. Lots and lots of caravan sites to suit all budgets. Abbeyford leisure is right on the beach.

St Andrews is nice.

We went to Tynemouth recently to see some family for the day, and I was really impressed, it was a lovely place. There was a bit of beach which apparently is dog friendly all year round

Seahouses on the Northumberland coast is an ideal location.

I'd go to Whitby.
Near by you have Saltburn by the sea ( victorian town).
Scarborough.
York.
Malton.
Pickering
Whitby itself is amazing and historical.
The Abbey.
The harbour.
Boat rides.
Cobbled streets.
Pubs
Restaurants.
Shops.
Steeped in history
Beaches.
Dog friendly beaches and pubs/ restaurants .
Great walks.
Airbnb do great cottages.

Oooh! I like this idea. I've never actually been there.

Whitby is one of my favourite places on Earth so this could well be a good shout.
