I'm going down soon and thinking I should probably have a plan b for bad weather. Any suggestions? Staying in the Torquay area.

That's just a generally good website to look at - thank you @Min133

Paignton zoo, clip and climb (exeter or Plymouth), ibounce (Newton abbot), Dartmouth castle, steam train to Kingswear then ferry over to Dartmouth, swimming at English riviera centre, viva torquay (axe throwing sort of place), occombe farm (indoor play area depending on age of kids), crealey/ woodlands (some indoor sections including large soft play at both), river dart cruise/ sea safari (not sure if these are covered for wet weather), Exeter underground passages, Exeter ram (museum), the box Plymouth.

What age kids (if any)?

DontThinkJustDo · 09/07/2024 16:56

Day trips to places like Totnes, Exeter, Dartmouth

Wonkybrolly · 10/07/2024 21:11

Exeter museum is pretty awesome even for adults! And it’s near loads of tasty places to eat as well. I recommend Bills.

Also Exeter has underground tunnels you can have a tour of! Very cool!

Ent500 · 10/07/2024 21:27

The Box museum in Plymouth is brilliant.

Ent500 · 10/07/2024 21:28

Totnes steam train to Buckfastleigh. Then Buckfast Abbey

Paignton Zoo was soo run down last year. Not worth the money at all.

Exeter Cathedral was nice. Lots to do in Exeter.

HighlandCowbag · 10/07/2024 21:32

Ooo we are going to Dawlish om Saturday.

I have Powderham Castle, Exeter, Paignton Zoo and a moor walk on my list. Plus various small seaside places. We like Teignmouth and Shaldon, we went to Exmouth last year and might go into Paignton itself. The rail service is pretty good down the coastline.

Dawlish Town is pretty as well, home of the black Swan and a nice cream tea place at the side of the stream and black swans.

I love Devon ❤️.

Me too @HighlandCowbag - but I haven't been there for years! I hope the weather cheers up though so I can make the most of the beautiful beaches.
