LA with a 15 month old

Hi all,

We’re headed to LA in August with our 15 month old. We’ve seen a lot that is quite discouraging from traveling long haul with a baby her age, but we have friends there who we haven’t seen for a while and wanted to make the most of being able to have her as a lap infant for the flight!

was wondering if anyone had any good tips for the flight (we’re doing a day flight there and night flight back) and also anything to do in LA, we will be keeping our expectations low and happy to do more child/nature focused activities than the typical tourist things if they aren’t suited for her. We’ll be staying in silver lake and will have a hire car.

thanks!

There are a few aquariums in LA - they’re such a good way to keep occupied on a really hot day. The best one is Aquarium of the Pacific. It’s quite pricy but it’s massive and you could spend the entire afternoon there. There’s another one at Santa Monica Pier and a small one in the California Science Center (free admission). Santa Monica Pier also has a gorgeous old carousel and the Cayton’s Children’s Museum (soft play!) is within easy walking distance.
