International Transit at Istanbul Airport, is 2 hours enough?

Hey there,

Flying return from London to Accra in December with Turkish Airlines, just booking my tickets and wondering if anyone can advise me on how long should be sufficient for transit? All flights are on one ticket so obviously I wouldn't need to check bags multiple times or anything like that, but I have heard that Istanbul Airport is huge and it is better to allow at least 2.5 hours when transiting international flights.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Istanbul airport is huge.

Turkish airlines tends to run late.

I’d get slightly longer.

I transited Istanbul December last year with a 1:45 layover. Arrival was around midnight and the airport was pretty quiet. The airport is very big with a single long terminal building and from one end to the other was a long walk. I did have time to get a wifi code and buy a bottle of water then hang around at the gate. Secondary security screening was very efficient and quick.

It's not impossible and TA offer it but probably not time to linger.
