Sicily tomorrow?

Hi. Due to fly out to Catania first thing tomorrow, for our family holiday. Obviously there has been news of Mount Etna activity, and we can see the volcano from our hotel! Will it be ok, do you think?
I haven't heard anything from the airline. I'm calm but my teens are a bit anxious.

You will be fine. Etna is miles away from any tourist places. Only downside is you may not be able to go in a trip to the top.

Etna erupts regularly, and due to the type of rock, the lava is very slow moving. You can walk faster.

Thank you, that's reassuring. I thought the ash might have been the bigger problem, but maybe not. Thanks again for replying.

If your flight is still going ahead all should be fine. As pp said - it might have an impact if you have plans to go up Etna. Personally I think it looks better from a distance.
