Hi, yes we've done this twice, to Lake Garda and to Tuscany (with Canvas Holidays), and we are going back this year to Lake Garda again (with Eurocamp). I LOVE Italy!

My main tip would be make sure you get air-conditioning if you are staying in a mobile home. They are like little ovens in the sun.

IME Italian campsites can be quite crowded with small pitches which are very close together. We stayed at two very large campsites though so this may be different at a smaller one. There were no hedges or anything like that separating the pitches at either of the sites we've been to.

Also, if you are planning on renting a car, prepare yourself! Their motorway lanes are really quite narrow, and they laugh in the face of speed limits .

Summer 09? That's planning ahead.

We did two weeks in Tuscany last year with Vacansoleil. Much cheaper than Eurocamp etc. Dutch company i think but you book through an office in Yorkshire. We flew to Pisa, hired a car, then did two different sites, a week on each, which worked brilliantly. We're going back again this year. Only 6 weeks to go. So excited.
