Holiday Recommendation

If like me you are looking for the following:

  • small hotel or villa
  • on the beach
  • with a pool
  • with / near things to do
  • quiet / low key feel

Then I highly recommend our find this year. It took us ages to find so sharing incase it helps anyone else.

Tamarisk is on a beach near Bodrum

It's a lovely small family run hotel, with a water sports centre. The beach is small but there are sun beds in shade under Tamarisk trees. There’s a large pool with more sun beds around it. The rooms are perfect for families. There is a separate bedroom, sitting room with 2 comfy sofa beds, a decent balcony and a fridge. Aircon in both rooms.

Dinner is served on the beach. There is an aray of delicious home
made mezze and then a la carte mains. Everything is fresh and delicious. Breakfast is simple and there are reasonable lunch options too.

As well as Bodrum (which is worth a visit) there is a lovely beach town (Bitez) a few km away (£3 taxi) with lovely shops, Hamman, a dive school and more restaurants.

We booked via Cachet Travel who were excellent but also easy to book direct. We flew to Bodrum and high end taxi was arranged to meet us. Door to door was approx 40 mins.

Prices much more reasonable
than Croatia.

Am sure we will be back but also interested in similar recommendations.

Are the water sports included in the price and how much did you pay, in/out of school holidays?

It is Scottish school holidays. We paid £4500 for 1/2 board, flights and transfers for 10 nights. A couple staying said they’d paid €120 for 2 half board per night.

watersports prices attached.

Thanks. Turkey is one of the places I've avoided like the plague but occasionally find myself considering it. Food poisoning being a concern 🤢 but this place does have decent reviews.

Only time I’ve had food poisoning was in a fancy restaurant in France. Didn’t know Turkey had a bad rep.

Yeah, it does unfortunately. I expect it's more the huge mass catering hotels though rather than the place you've been
