We have a family holiday booked for December, to Jamaica for 2 weeks. I'll be 28-30 weeks pregnant.

Has anybody from the uk travelled to Jamaica whilst that far pregnant. If so what are the risks? I know Zika virus is present there hut unsure at how big of a risk it is.. but it's a big family holiday and I feel gutted!

Jamaica has been pretty badly hit by a hurricane in the last 24 hours, so you may find you aren't going there later this year after all.

The holiday is booked for December and hurricane damage isn't that extensive in Jamaica...

No idea about Zika risks but check FCO...

Give over! a few palm trees lost a branch or two. I think they will recover by December. Don't be dramatic.

OP, ask your GP, I was there in March. Amazing place, don't miss out if you don't have to.

From what they were saying on the news earlier, it sounded pretty bad. Were they exaggerating?

I have lots of family there. There is of course minor damage and some flooding. I don't think a holiday 5-6mths away is going to be massively impacted.

Same. I have family there and others who were meant to be visiting for a funeral this week- it has now been postponed for 3 weeks. A holiday in December should be fine.

I'll be there in January. Flight may be a bit uncomfortable for 9.5 hours but once you're there, happy days.

Im currently here! There are some damaged areas and the airports are currently shut to all but humanitarian flights but I don't think it will have any effect on a holiday next month let alone in December!
