Hi
found out that our self catering accommodation is a quite a walk from anywhere to get breakfast… 30/40 min made complete boob and didn’t check first 😬 I’m not sure I fancy trek this every morning lol We have been told we can add it to our booking but it will be extra £580 for two weeks for the three of us. Is it worth it ? Would you ? For reference we are going to Greece.

If it's an apartment you'll have a fridge. Breakfast is the 1 meal we usually eat in our self catering apartment. Just buy some stuff on the way home to have on your balcony in the morning.
No way I'd pay £580 for breakfasts, you'll have much more enjoyable things to spend that on during your holiday.

I agree - if you have kitchen facilities just get pastries / bread / cereal plus coffee / juice etc.

mitogoshi · 04/07/2024 15:42

Not for breakfast, I'd just get in basics and go out for brunch some days

rookiemere · 04/07/2024 15:42

I would get a cab/uber to a supermarket first day and stock up on what you need. What's your plan for other meals?

Ragwort · 04/07/2024 15:45

'Self catering' surely means you have the facilities (ie; fridge, cooker, crockery etc) to cater for yourself ? Hmm
Unless it's some other sort of accommodation??

I'm not sure you have understood the meaning of self-catering.

Buy some breakfast stuff.

I'd cater my own breakfast. Hopefully you have a car? Pop to the bakers in it some mornings for spanakopita 😋

Thanks everyone 😁
yep understand the nature of self catering but thanks for dose of reality 😂😁
we always book self catering apartments as find they have more space which we like… however to be honest we rarely use the kitchen we enjoy going out for meals including breakfast. Normally I check on distance to cafes/tavernas etc but forgot this time. I’m currently in process of sorting car hire now I know the distance is a bit far, so stocking up on breakfast goodies will be the sensible thing to do

£580/14 = £41.42 a day. Divide that by 3 = £13.81 per breakfast 🤯

No. I'd throw some cereal bars or something in your case for emergency, then grab some food on day 1/2

mondaytosunday · 04/07/2024 17:11

Breakfast is the one meal I either skip or if you want to eat out do brunch. Or just keep it simple? But no I would not add it on at that cost!
